According to Sony, the Zelda film is being made in “closest possible collaboration” with Miyamoto

Ever since Nintendo announced that a live-action Legend of Zelda movie was in the works, there has been both excitement and concern. While fans believe the potential for a fantastic adaptation is there, there are also major concerns about the story, actors and approach. Although we haven't learned the intricacies of the film yet, we can rest easy knowing that Nintendo's biggest star is deeply involved in the film.

Wes Ball is attached to direct the Legend of Zelda film and has recently allayed fears with his comments on the film and the franchise, clearly portraying him as a true fan. Anyone who is still worried that the film won't get made can now sit back with some peace of mind, as Ball will have the best possible person at his side for the film.

According to a Deadline interview with Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman, fans don't have to worry about the adaptation being anything less than stellar as Shigeru Miyamoto is also attached to this project.

…because the film is developed and produced in close collaboration with [Nintendo video game designer] Shigeru Miyamoto. He is a true genius in this world, and it is truly his strong vision that motivates him. He created it and understands it thoroughly. Just look at the results of Super Mario Brothers.
