Gran lands a role in a music video thanks to marathon dancing

A 65-year-old retired grandmother has landed a role in a new music video thanks to her enthusiasm for the London Marathon. Remeaise Irish-Downes became a viral sensation after her crazy performance at this year's marathon.

Wearing an iconic leopard print leotard and fur coat, Remeaise was equipped with a megaphone and a boombox. She danced her heart out to cheer on the runners on the 16-mile wall of the 26.2-mile race. After what she calls a “split decision” to enter the marathon for the first time to help runners reach the finish line, Remeaise ended up racking up thousands of views on TikTok for her dance performance to “Pump up the Jam.” “.

Jam Shed Wines discovered her on social media and signed her to the brand as the “perfect embodiment of their uncompromisingly different ethos.” She has now starred in her first music video with Jam Shed Wines and Star.One.

The video is inspired by the classic tropes of music videos but adds a twist as we see Star. One perform their track while interacting with Hype Gran.

Remeaise said: “The last few weeks have all been such a whirlwind. I'm still in disbelief that my dance moves got so much attention online, but I'm so grateful for everything that came after. I've always loved hip-hop and drum'n'bass. Back then, I danced in my aerobics class to liven up the mood!

“Becoming a brand ambassador for Jam Shed and working with Star. One on the music video for Pump up the Jam was a moment I will never forget. I hope everyone loves the video as much as I loved making it!”

A spokesman for Accolade Wines added: “We knew Remeaise was an absolute powerhouse and her performance in the music video didn't disappoint. “It took a few weeks to develop and we're really excited to release it to the public.”
