Jim Parsons jokes that reincarnation is the only way to play Sheldon Cooper again

Jim Parsons joked that he wouldn't play Sheldon Cooper again until “another life.”
The 51-year-old actor and “The Big Bang Theory” co-star Mayim Bialik reprized their roles as Sheldon and his wife Amy Farrah Fowler in the finale of the “Young Sheldon” prequel series, but he downplayed the idea of a return for another spin-off.
Asked by E! News about what it would take to get him to play the character in a sequel, he quipped, “Reincarnation? A different life?”
Jim admitted that he could never completely rule out playing Sheldon again, but he said it was highly unlikely.
He added: “Look, never say never to anything! Life is long, God willing, but I don’t think so!”
Still, he was happy to be seen on screen again as Sheldon in the finale, having lent his voice to the off-screen narrator throughout the series.
Looking back on filming the final episode, he said: “It was really special. The feeling today [after it has aired] is kind of strange.
“It's the second time now because when we finished The Big Bang Theory it felt like that too – a little different, but you do the final episode and it's done for you.
“Then a few months later it ends for the rest of the world and it's a very strange feeling to be floating over you again.”
Executive producer and co-showrunner Steve Holland admitted that it wasn't difficult to convince Jim – who was also an executive producer of Young Sheldon – and Mayim to take part in the finale.
He told People magazine: “I think they were both excited. Jim was obviously a part of the show. He is an executive producer. He was the narrator.”
“I think Mayim literally said, 'Anything you want me to do, I'll come there and do it.'”
Producers had to work around Jim's schedule as he is currently starring in a Broadway production of “Mother Play – A Play in Five Evictions” and had to fly to Los Angeles on a non-rehearsal day before returning to New York for his commitments Play the next day.
Their scenes were also filmed earlier than the rest of the finale to accommodate the couple's busy schedule.
The show followed Sheldon Cooper as a nine-year-old prodigy with his family in Texas as he navigated high school and the wider world.
