Which sports bar and restaurant on Skibo Road are closed? Here's the latest

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux in Fayetteville closed its doors this month, according to a sign on the door of the Skibo Road restaurant.

The Louisiana-based chain opened its first sports bar and Cajun restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before expanding into the North Carolina market in 2019 with the opening at 2116 Skibo Road in Fayetteville.

“It is with heavy hearts that we write to inform you that Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux… has closed its doors for the final time,” the sign on the door read. Radio station WKML reported that the sign first appeared on the door on May 8. and it was still there on Monday.

The sign also read: “We are sad to say goodbye to this location. Thank you for being part of our journey… We look forward to your continued support at our other locations.”

The Fayetteville restaurant is now permanently closed, the closest location is in Wilmington, according to the sign on the door.

Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux announced its sudden closure with this sign posted on the front and side doors on May 8, 2024.

Walk-On's corporate office confirmed the location's closure via email Tuesday, saying, “At this time, we have not been provided a reason for the closure.”

The property owners did not respond to emails or phone calls Monday. The location can no longer be found on the company website, although it is mentioned in the careers section, but the link is dead. Attempts to contact a former employee were unsuccessful. The Fayetteville store's Facebook page was also unavailable Friday.
