Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt star in a slasher romantic comedy

ScreamMason Gooding and Totally murderous“Olivia Holt will star in Spyglass” Heart Eyesby director Josh Ruben (Werewolves inside, Scare me)

Ruben will direct from a script by Phillip Murphy (The bodyguard of the hitman's wife) Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) and Michael Kennedy (Freaky, it's a wonderful knife).

When the Heart Eyes Killer strikes Seattle, two co-workers working overtime on Valentine's Day are mistaken for a couple by the elusive, match-seeking killer, and must spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives.

Deadline also told us that Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks of Landon and Divide/Conquer (M3gan, Totally murderous). Gary Barber and Chris Stone of Spyglass will support Murphy as EPs.

In a statement, Ruben let us know how excited he is to present us with this genre mix:

“My love of horror is only surpassed by my love of romantic comedies. I'm beyond excited to bring my most ambitious genre-bender yet to the stage: a brutal slasher set in a nostalgic rom-com universe.”

Heart Eyes connects Scream And Thanksgiving in what Deadline has called “Spyglass’s ticklish horror canon,” and we tend to agree with them!
