Joanna Gaines shares a throwback photo with her husband Chip in honor of Valentine's Day

Joanna Gaines was feeling nostalgic on Valentine's Day!

On Sunday, In need of renovation Star shared a sweet throwback photo of her and her husband Chip Gaines in honor of the romantic holiday.

“I miss my side part and your grey tooth,” Joanna, 42, captioned the photo on her Instagram story, adding, “Happy Valentine's Day.”

The Magnolia co-founder then took the same photo and edited it to show what the couple might look like in the future – wrinkles, gray hair and all!

Meanwhile, Chip, 46, kept up his Valentine's Day tradition, leaving his wife a sweet message on one of the silos at Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas, for the third year in a row.

In 2019, he wrote “Chip Hearts Jo” in green lettering; the following year, he stayed classic and wrote her initials C+J inside a large red heart pierced by Cupid's bow and arrow.

This year, Chip decided to declare his love by writing, “Chip loves Jo.”

Last year, the craftsman explained the reasoning behind his grand gesture and posted a picture of himself standing on a cherry picker, writing the heartfelt message.

“Jo loves love letters! And I love @joannagaines. So I went on a mission late last night here at the Silos in Waco to try to send a beacon of light in her heart,” he wrote.

A source previously told PEOPLE that he used a self-adhesive sticker rather than spray paint for the message so as not to damage the building. It's safe to assume he did the same for the 2020 and 2021 versions of his Valentine's letter.
