The City of Dunkirk's Music on the Pier summer concert series continues its second week this Thursday at Memorial Park. The concerts are presented by DFT Communications with stage sponsor National Grid and production company Advanced Production Group (APG).

Sponsored by KeyBank and Owl Homes of Fredonia, Women Who Rock Night will open with Midnight Recovery from 5:25-6:45 p.m., while headliner Gypsy Queen will take the stage from 7-9 p.m.

Midnight Recovery Band is a local band featuring the powerhouse Cortney Chyme (vocals), Todd Langworthy (bass and vocals), Paul Przybycien (guitar) and Kevin Parker (drums).

They play a wide range of classic rock as well as some current country hits and have traveled throughout Western New York and Pennsylvania to perform at festivals, clubs and special events.

They have been nominated for Best Classic Rock Band at the Buffalo Music Awards in recent years, and Chyme was nominated for Best Female Lead Vocalist in 2023.

Gypsy Queen are the finest veteran musicians from Western New York with members from PassionWorks, Reset to Vinyl, Acoustria, Out on the Tiles and Grand Illusion. They have come together to honor the music of Heart and Fleetwood Mac and their sole goal is to bring their iconic music to life for everyone to enjoy.

Gypsy Queen features the amazing voices of singers Carolyn Daniels and Leah Pinnavaia, John Daniels (guitar), Scott Helfrich (guitar, vocals), Chris Rizzo (keyboards), Tim O'Connell (drums, percussion) and John Caruso (bass, vocals).

Guests are asked to bring a chair. Food trucks and other vendors will be on site, as well as the city's beverage tent. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace and surrounding shops will also be open.

Dunkirk event brochures are available in the City Council Atrium, Dunkirk Town Hall or online.
