The grand appearance in the capital of the Murcia region will be accompanied by a spectacular drone show with 100 drones.

For the second year in a row, there will be no Christmas tree in La Redonda, but before the switch-on on Friday 2 December there will be a spectacular drone show in which 100 drones will “dance” in a unique show in the Chinese Garden.

Afterwards, a huge music truck with acrobats drives along the Avenida Teniente Flomesta to Plaza Martínez Tornel. There, three music groups perform and, with the big lights switched on, usher in an 18-meter-high “Oriental Star” on the Town Hall Square.

“The local council is working on the most beautiful Christmas lighting show in the history of the municipality. The drone show will be visible from various points and the roofs of the buildings will become a meeting point for residents where they can come together and enjoy the show together,” said a municipal spokesman.

In total, 1,223 decorative elements (arches, signs, cones, stars and motifs) and 2,908 meters of LED lights in garlands will shine throughout Murcia.

In the city of Murcia, around 581 decorative elements will be installed, and in the districts 642.

Murcian residents and visitors can enjoy 372 arches, 174 stars and designs on lampposts, 6 photo opportunities, 4 cones and 25 special elements, as well as 680 metres of LED lights. As for the installations in the neighbourhoods, visitors can enjoy 567 arches, 65 stars and designs on lampposts, 10 spotlights and 2,228 metres of lights.
